Americans are growing less familiar with our country’s origins and key institutions and becoming less informed about critical issues facing our democracy.
Humanities North Dakota has a crucial role to play in addressing this challenge. We believe it is critical for the health of our democracy that each generation learns our history and founding principles and understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens. At a time when our nation is so polarized and trust in our institutions is at an all time low, a renewal of civics education at all levels of society is critical to restoring our democracy.
Members receive updates on Humanities ND programs happening all across the state and a subscription to On Second Thought magazine, plus additional humanities content delivered right to your inbox.
Our mission is to provide people opportunities to engage with and debate ideas, because democracy demands wisdom and vision in its citizens.
