Michael Tomanek

Michael Tomanek is an Associate Professor of English at Bismarck State College where in addition to teaching composition, creative writing, and poetry classes, he also serves as the project director for Bringing Humanities to Life, a humanities program funded by the NEH and BSC Foundation. He also volunteers at the North Dakota State Penitentiary where he runs a weekly poetry workshop for residents. In his personal time, Michael practices the four R’s: reading, writing, running, and records. If he is not home with his cats and bird listening to records, he is usually out running along the river listening to Phish. Or reading a book. Or writing a poem.
