ABOUT THIS CLASS

This is a 10-week virtual class using the Zoom platform.  

Thursdays: September 8, 15, 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10 

7-9 pm CST

This course will examine the policies and personalities of the nine men who occupied the White House from the depths of the Great Depression and World War II through the space race, Vietnam, Watergate and the end of the Cold War – Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. The course meets ten nights – the first night will be an introduction, then each night after that will be devoted to a particular President. The goal of this course is to profile each of these Presidents and the times in which they served, while also providing ample time for discussion among class members.

Rick Collin is a historian with a passion for history told through stories. Rick has worked for the State Historical Society of ND, taught The American Presidency, The History of World War II, America in the 1960s, The United States To 1877 and The United States Since 1877 at the University of Mary and Bismarck State College. He relishes any opportunity to share history with others.
